I went on a plein air trip with a group of painters to a home on a large hill. The hill stretched all the way down to the ocean. After walking a third of the way down the hill, I turned around and saw the house. The foreground was in bright light and the mid-ground trees on the left were in deep shadow.
Scott White has learned his craft and understanding of color through his career as a master printer and his informal education from online courses and paint alongs. He credits DVDs by Johannes Vloothuis, Don Demers, Brian Keeler, Ian Roberts, and Sharon Sprung for their technical guidance and inspiration. Scott now lives in Maine after summering by the ocean for many years. He draws on the wonderful habitats of New England to create his favorite landscapes and seascapes.
