Artist's Description

When one wanders back into town along Route 130 in Bristol, Maine, there is a view that has always caught my eye. This solitary evergreen giant stands guardian over the surrounding marsh. To me it's a reminder of survival, protection and nature's simple beauty.

Scott W White

Scott White has learned his craft and understanding of color through his career as a master printer and his informal education from online courses and paint alongs. He credits DVDs by Johannes Vloothuis, Don Demers, Brian Keeler, Ian Roberts, and Sharon Sprung for their technical guidance and inspiration. Scott now lives in Maine after summering by the ocean for many years. He draws on the wonderful habitats of New England to create his favorite landscapes and seascapes.
